President Barack Obama – who claims to be a Christian – and in defiance of the clear teaching of Scripture, thinks Military Chaplains should ignore those scriptures, no matter their conscience and convictions, and instead capitulate to the immoral, destructive, and indefensible demands of 2% of the American population.
After signing the National Defense Authorization Act on Thursday, he released a statement in opposition to Section 533 which allows military chaplains to opt-out of performing gay marriages, declaring it “unnecessary and ill-advised.”
Section 533 reads, “No member of the Armed Forces may — require a chaplain to perform any rite, ritual, or ceremony that is contrary to the conscience, moral principles, or religious beliefs of the chaplain; or discriminate or take any adverse personnel action against a chaplain.”
What is “unnecessary and ill-advised” is this President’s objections. No Chaplain in any branch of the military should be required to violate his conscience, convictions, or doctrinal beliefs, even if it is demanded by the President of the United States or the U.S. Supreme Court.
Religious liberty and freedom of conscience were primary reasons men and women left Europe for America and should not be tampered with or denied to satisfy the demands of those who profess to love each other! Many have given their lives for those God given rights and if ignored, disdained, or denied us by any elected or unelected official, or legislative body – which Obama prefers to impose upon us all without our consent -American’s would be wise to revolt again, through the ballot box, impeachment, or outright revolt if necessary.
Bishop Paprocki of the Diocese of Springfield, Illinois, in a letter to be read in his parish churches this Sunday, rightly states, “[N]either two men nor two women can possibly form a marriage. Our law would be lying if it said that they could. The basic structure of marriage as the exclusive and lasting relationship of a man and a woman, committed to a life which is fulfilled by having children, is given to us in human nature, and thus by nature’s God.”
Yet this arrogant, social engineering narcissist in chief, pop culture President knows better!
His preference is for neutered Chaplains who ‘don’t ask’ if those they ‘serve’ know what the Scriptures say about homosexuality, and ‘don’t tell’ them if they do.
Obama is reminiscent of those kings of Israel who “did evil in the sight of the LORD” by ignoring the laws of God as revealed by Moses and the Prophets. Their end was not pleasant and their lawlessness will be called to account, if not by the people, by God Himself’.
