“When the righteous are in authority the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”
The battle for freedom in America began long before the Revolutionary War with the colonization of New England by Puritans seeking religious freedom. The first governing document was the Mayflower Compact which began with “In ye name of God, Amen…and stated “having undertaken for ye glorie of God, and advancement of ye Christian faith…”
Alexis de Tocqueville, famous French statesman, historian, and social philosopher, after traveling America for 10 months in 1831-32, to discover America’s greatness, published Democracy in America, “considered the most comprehensive and penetrating analysis of the relationship between character and society in the Young Republic, that has ever been written.”1
In it he wrote, “the spirit of religion and the spirit of freedom were intimately united and …reigned in common over the same country.”
“…there is no country in the world where the Christian religion retains a greater influence over the souls of man than in America.”
de Tocqueville concluded after observing America’s institutions that it was not until he…
“went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness” did he “understand the secret of her genius and power,” stating “America is great because America is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.”

We have gone from revering and respecting life, to destroying life; whether it be our own, innocents in the womb, in the streets, the weak and elderly, those we dislike or hate, or those who daily seek to serve and protect us.
We have become a nation of narcissists who think the world revolves around them; selfish, with a sense of entitlement, lacking in empathy, deserving attention, admiration, and recognition. Millions in successive generations have forgotten, rejected, and denigrated the knowledge, wisdom, and blessings of God; Who He Is, and who we are as a living testimony of His Life, and atoning Sacrifice for our sin.
Millions of Americans have turned away from the Hope in Christ of our Founders to serve their desires, and now find themselves hopeless, bereft of meaning; victims of a hypersexualized and debauched society, dependent on drugs, homeless, and despairing.
We have sewn to the wind and are now reaping the whirlwind.
We have built a national ‘house of sand’ that cannot stand.
“And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not,
Shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand;
and the rain descended and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”
