“When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.”
When the Supreme Court in 1973 wrongly decided Roe v. Wade, “…the enemy” of our souls, knowing and catering to our sin nature, came “in like a flood”, to destroy our offspring, but “the Spirit of the LORD” lifted up “a standard against him” through men and women who understood that Lucifer was behind the deception and stood fast against him. Who were these people? And how did they prevail? In an article by Joseph Brejcha, Founder and President of The Thomas Moore Society, the following contributed greatly to the fall of Roe:
Norma McCorvey, AKA Jane Roe in Roe vs. Wade who lamented her young role and became an advocate for life.
Sandra Cano, AKA Mary Doe in Roe vs. Wade who likewise lamented her role as “Mary Doe” in Roe’s companion case, Doe vs. Bolton to speak out in support of the sanctity of life.
Joan Andrew Bell, sued and jailed for several years in solitary cells as a “non-cooperative” pro-life activist.
Joseph Scheidler, who authored a protest manual and forged a national network of pro-life protesters and activists.
Randall Terry, who founded and led mass protests bannered as “Operation Rescue.”
Dr Jack Wilke, outspoken longtime leader of the National Right To Life Committee.
The late Congressman Henry Hyde, author of the Hyde Amendment, a legislative provision barring the use of Federal funds to pay for abortion, except to save the life of the woman, or if the pregnancy arises from incest or rape. Hyde also testified that abortion centers were equivalent to Auschwitz and Dachau.
And of late:
David Bereit, who founded 40 Days for Life.
Lila Rose and “Live Action”
David Daleiden, undercover reporter and founder of the Center for Medical Progress in Irvine, California.
Pastors, lay men and women who organized, picketed, and paid a price; the students, educators, and elected officials who stood their ground and did not flinch.
And now, but not least, the Supreme Court Justices who, under threats of murder and retaliation, stood their ground and ruled in favor of Life!
These many prevailed because they understood by the infallible Word and Spirit of God that abortion is a barbarous, uncivilized, and rebellious act against the most innocent, in defiance of the authority of The Sovereign God of heaven and earth; a denial of God’s command to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:27-29). They knew what was at stake if America went about destroying it’s children. They knew it would bring judgment upon America . . . and it has. Their persistent strength was in knowing that as God promised, He would be with them in their stand for what is right.
Will we continue in that trust? Will we ‘stand’ in the battle at the states? Or will we shrink back in fear of the threats of personal harm or loss if we persist?
Will we turn out in great numbers to stop the now promised “Blue Wave” and thwart the godless “Reset” of America?
“Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.”
LORD God of Heaven and Earth, You are worthy of our praise and deepest thanks for this victory and the events that led to justices whose hearts were righteous by Your hand. May ours be so led by Your Holy Spirit, as were the multitude who went before us who stood firm in faith for these 49 years. Strengthen our hearts and encourage our brethren to STAND. In the Name above all names Who was and is and Is to come. Amen
“You are the salt of the earth…the light of the world…let your light so shine before men that they see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit sayeth the LORD of hosts.
“… stand fast in one Spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the Gospel; and in nothing, terrified by your adversaries.”
“You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a people claimed by God as His own, to proclaim the triumph of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
I Peter 2:9
Doesn’t wisdom cry out? Doesn’t understanding raise her voice? On the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she stands. Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entry doors, she cries aloud.”
Nehemiah 2-6 & Judges 6-7
There is no better time to proclaim the eternal truth that “God was in Christ,
reconciling the world to Himself.”
