It was the Jewish Pharisees who plotted to kill Jesus of Nazereth, roiled their followers into chants shouting “crucify Him” that prevailed with Pilate. This Jesus was a threat to their political power, false teaching, and control of the people.
Jesus unflinchingly and unabashedly excoriated and judged them in the Seven Woes found in Mathew 23:13-36 calling them ‘hypocrites’ 7 times; blind fools; blind guides; extortioners; serpents; vipers; murderers of the prophets; and the innocents.
The pharisees in America today are those who hate Christ and Christians for the same reasons; reject revealed truth, pervert justice, kill the innocents; and persecute the righteous.
These traffickers in darkness “shut up the Kingdom of Heaven to men, for you neither enter yourselves, nor allow those who would enter to go in.” vs.13-14. e.g. They have gone to great extremes to take Bible reading, Prayer, the Ten Commandments, and mention of the Bible out of our schools, school activities, Commencement ceremonies and the public square. They have used liberal judges and justices in our courts to make our children “twice as much children of hell as they are.” And now they have joined forces over the last 4 years to destroy a President and Administration that threatens their political power, foolish policies, and control of the American people.

As daunting as this pagan movement has become and Jesus’ revelation of the ominous events to come, our LORD warns us to “Watch therefore, for you do not know what day your Lord is coming….you must be ready, for the Son of man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
