Rewiring Our Children’s Minds
“The liberal Warren Court (1953-1969) may have envisioned attaining freedom from religion by the removal of prayer and the Bible from public education in their Engel v. Vitale (1962) and Abington School District v. Schempp (1963) decisions. What they really brought about, however, was not neutrality toward religion, but “a religion of secularism.”
Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart
1958 to 1981

The ‘religion of secularism’ spoken of by Justice Potter not only led to the re-visioning of American history to downplay our Judeo-Christian roots, it served also as a template to re-envision historic and orthodox teaching about God by those who would bring humanistic reasoning to the Church.
In Restore America Board Member Allan Erickson’s recently published article on the dangers of revising Christian Theology, Allan wrote,
“Historic Judeo-Christian theology reaching back 6,000 years has always held that God is Almighty: all powerful, all knowing, always present, everywhere, all the time. For sixty years, this was my understanding, reaching back to Sunday school.”
“So imagine my surprise when our pastor began teaching Open Theology, a relatively new theology, positing the idea God does not know everything, that he is sometimes surprised by our behavior, that he changes his mind and his methods when surprised by our responses.”
The danger of this ‘revised’ theology of God and so called “Incarnational Missiology” for the Church, is well argued by Allan, and what we are teaching our children became evident in his daughter’s sixth grade Church class.
“Our cause is noble; it is the cause of mankind!”
