“And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places. All these are the beginnings of sorrows.“
Jesus, teaching His Disciples on the Mount of Olives
Matthew 24:6-8
In my last commentary I briefly wrote of Jesus’ teaching about the events leading to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, the Anti-Christ, the Judgement of the nations, and the establishment of His Millennial Kingdom. Jesus revealed these things to His disciples just before His trial and crucifixion (Cf. Matthew 24:1-39, Mark 13:1-36, Luke 21:25-36).
“…as ye have heard that anti-christ shall come, even now are there many anti-christs; whereby we know that it is the last time.”
I John 2:18
John was The Apostle who took care of Mary, Christ’s Mother, until her death and after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD, made his residence at Ephesus. In his latter years under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, wrote his Gospel, three Epistles, and the Book of Revelation.
As history reveals, ‘many anti-christs’ have come and gone throughout the 2000 years since Jesus walked in the land of Israel, and continue to proliferate and deceive to this very day.
Will we continue to be deceived by the current anti-christs in America and around the world or recognize that “The beginning of sorrows” Jesus spoke of is coming to pass before our very eyes?
If we recognize what is happening, a turning back to God in personal repentance and renewed faith in Him Who Is, and Is to Come, is possible before the tumult, death and destruction of the Last Days is fully upon us.
“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life,
and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, and he who does not
have the Son of God, does not have life. These things have I written to you who believe
in the Name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”
“…if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Romans 10:9-10
