“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.”
Psalm 118:8-9

The Restoration Of Oregon
On August 31st, in my introduction to Dennis Linthicum, Republican running for Oregon Secretary of State, I wrote . . .
“Christians in Oregon could be a force for good if we would simply believe wholeheartedly” in God’s power (Christ in you), ‘step out from underneath the ‘bushel’ of doubt and unbelief ‘ . . . and engage our responsibilities as citizens.
We have forgotten our calling to be “salt” and “light” ambassadors of Christ, to elect “able men who fear God, men of truth, who hate dishonest gain” (Cf. Exodus 18:21-23).
“You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” Matthew 5:13
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.” Matthew 5:14-16
Forgetting Who we serve, we have lost our ‘Savour’ (the distinctive quality or power to excite or interest those around us), and commitment to being “salt and light” to ensure we identify and elect candidates who serve not themselves, but those they represent.

The Candidates For Secretary Of State
Nathalie Paravicini —————— Tobias Read
Dennis Linthicum
Nathalie Paravicini – Pacific Green Party
Born in Basel, Switzerland, Paravicini earned a graduate degree from the University of Houston in 1990 and a Ph,D. from the National University of Natural Medicine in 2011.
She has worked as a doctor and is affiliated with both the Oregon Association of Naturopathic Physicians and American Association as well.
She is affiliated with the Oregon Peace Network.
She has virtually no experience in Oregon government that would qualify her to be Secretary of State.
She ran for Secretary of State in the 2020 General Election under both the Pacific Green and Progressive Party, garnering 82,211 votes in which Shemia Fagan, the democrat, won with 1,146,370 votes. State Senator Kim Thatcher, who ran as both Republican & Independent, received 984,597 votes.
Fagan, a few months after being elected, resigned due to a conflict of interest following her cannabis consulting scandal.
Paravicini states on the Oregon Secretary of State website that she is “fearlessly focused on Climate Change with social equity,” and lists “fairvote.org, oregon rebate.org, nationalpriorities.org, pacificgreens.org, and peoplenotpoliiciansoregon.com” in her comments. All are liberal, ‘progressive’ groups as is the Oregon Peace Network.
Tobias Read – Democrat Party
Born in Missoula, Montana and later moving to Oregon, Read received his B.A degree in Politics and Economics in 1997 from Willamette, University in Salem and his MBA from the University of Washington in 2003.
He began his political Career in 2007 as a State Representative from Washington County (District 27) which encompasses mostly Beaverton where he now lives and served until 2017 at which time he assumed the position of State Treasurer, having been elected in the 2016 General Election.
Prior to his political career he worked as a footwear designer and product developer for NIKE; an aide in the Department of the U.S. Treasury during the Clinton Administration; and SKY TAXI, a now defunct Oregon startup.
Read’s positions on Oregon’s Food Bank questions reflect all the standard liberal government assertions and solutions.
In the May 17, 2022 Oregon Primary, Read ran for Governor of Oregon, garnering 156,017 votes, losing to Tina Kotek who received 275,301 votes.
While Read is popular in the democrat party hierarchy, Secretary of State is thought to be a steppingstone to become Oregon’s Next Governor. However, unlike Linthicum, he is “light” on private sector experience, downstate awareness, and steeped in Oregon’s liberal DEI government.
Dennis Linthicum – Republican
Born in Pasadena, California, and now a 30+ year resident of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Dennis is a graduate of the University of California (UCLA), with a degree in Economics, and a Masters Degree from Biola University.
His professional experience includes software and large-scale database development, technical and managerial experience, micro-electronic circuits, semiconductor manufacturing, real estate data-processing, and large insurance portfolio management.
His private sector career experience includes working as a vice president, economist, contractor, rancher, and defender of Oregon’s farm and district water rights.
His political experience includes two consecutive 4-year terms as a Klamath County Commissioner, and 8 years as an Oregon State Senator, representing Senate District 28 in Central Oregon from Bend to the California border. He is highly respected in Salem on both sides of the aisle for his moral and ethical commitments.
Dennis Linthicum Is the Most Qualified Candidate To Serve As Oregon’s Next Secretary of State!
-
He is the only candidate not from the Portland Metroplex.
-
As a two term State Senator from Klamath Falls, and a two term County Commissioner, he understands the values, concerns, and challenges Rural, Central, Southern, and Eastern Oregon citizens face, as well as the politics of working with a divided legislature.
-
He is best suited to represent ALL Oregonians as Secretary of State given his experience in both the high tech, manufacturing, data processing, technical fields, and executive level management, in the midst of Salem’s ever changing political and administrative challenges.
-
He has wisely stated, “The duties that rightfully belong to families and individuals are being slowly eroded by bureaucratic overreach.”
-
Linthicum demonstrated his prolife and commitment to protecting Oregon’s children when he participated in last year’s senate Republican walkout to stall the Democrat supermajority from passing far-left abortion, anti-gun, and gender ideology bills
-
He also introduced bills in opposition to men in women’s sports and locker rooms that were ignored by the democrat majority.
-
The Secretary of State is responsible to ensure election integrity.
-
Dennis is on record stating, “Free and fair elections must be our highest goal. Election integrity is our pathway to true representative government.”
