Why Christians Celebrate Christ’s Birth

His Birth Was Foretold By The Prophet Isaiah during the 8th Century Before Christ*

“Therefore the LORD himself shall give you a sign;
Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 7:14

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor; The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Luke 2:7 “Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” Daniel 2:44

Isaiah 9:6-7

“The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the LORD, Make straight in the desert a highway for our God.”

Isaiah 40:3

“For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form or comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him: he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath born our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

Isaiah 53:2-6

“He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.”

Isaiah 53:7

“He was taken from prison and from judgement: and who shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Luke 23:33, I Peter 2:22, Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.”

Isaiah 53:8-10

The Fulfillment of these Prophecies 8 Centuries later, and Throughout History Since His birth, Is Irrefutable.

Isaiah…And The Dead Sea Scrolls*

While certain German Scholars between 1780 and 1926 disputed these passages on the grounds they could not have been penned before the Birth of Christ, the Dead Sea Scrolls, discovered in 1947 containing the Isaiah Scroll with the above passages, proved them wrong. The Scrolls date from the third century Before Christ.

Imanuel

In the Hebrew, “Imanuel” Literally means:
God Is With Us!

As you contemplate these Scriptures, the God we can know and serve, and give yourself to others, think on these things…and be at peace with others, yourself . . .
