“These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
Amongst the seven are:
A lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart (and in the instance of the attacks on Israel), ‘hearts’ that devise wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among * ‘brethren.”
All of which are clearly evident in the Hamas attack on Israel
“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
Zechariah 12:2-3
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.”
Zechariah 12:9
The Prophecies of Zechariah were written between 480 and 470 years before Christ.
It was Zechariah who spoke of the Jews looking upon their Messiah “whom they had pierced’ when He was on the Cross and would weep bitterly for doing so upon His return (Zechariah 12:10).
Although this prophecy refers to the Coming Day of the LORD which is yet future, it was, and is, for Jews and Gentiles, that we might not be confused, discouraged, misguided, or misled by the spirit of this world manifest in the ignorance and unbelief of men and women who have rejected the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
As we see the brutal and unconscionable attacks on the people of Israel; the entry of terrorists into America at the Southern Border, the ascendance of the godless around the world, support of Hamas here in America; the weakness and ignorance of our leaders; threats by Iran, and cultural collapse, we are watching the ‘signs’ of the end of the Age of the Gentiles.
Remember, when Jesus’ disciples asked Him, “When will these things be, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and the end of the age? “, He said….
“See to it that no one misleads you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famine and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs” (Matthew 24:3-8).
Take heart dear friends in Christ. As we watch events, good, bad, and terrible, take place around the world, and in America, we are called to STAND, as beacons of light, enlightened and armed with the Word of God, His promises, and light of Life, to proclaim His Salvation to our neighbors, fellow laborers, family and friends before it is too late and the door to eternal life is closed for those who have decided to go their own way without God.
Is it not something to behold and motivate us, that the signs of the times predicted over 2600 years ago, should not be considered in such a time as this?
